How to pick keywords for maximum benefit

Selecting keywords is the core of most marketing you will do online. The value of your entire marketing campaign depends on proper keyword selection.

You have to measure all keywords in terms of possible return on investment. Some keywords would have enormous benefit for your company but will cost you tens of thousands of dollars to rank for. Others will be cheaper and still have a high benefit.

Sources of keyword information

Pay per click results – If you have a PPC marketing campaign setup, we can use information gathered from that to find which keywords bring people to your site who are willing to spend money there.
Tracking and statistical analysis – This is looking at data which shows how your current customers are finding the site. It can give you a hint as to how many people will come to your site after you reach rank 1.
Research the competition – This research can tell you what terms are profitable for other people doing exactly the same thing as you online.
